Lens Hunting...

I rested today after starting my new job in San Francisco. I am working as a window cleaner for a great company here in the city. We do expensive homes that require rappels from the roof. I would compare the climbing and decending to climbing a 10-pitch aid route, an easy one. I like the work and it will provide great photographic scenery from the roofs all over the city.

I have been on the hunt for a lens to use this weekend. I have a shoot on Sunday that requires a 24-105 Canon lens but I have not been able to rent one. So I have been trying to buy a used one to use for this shoot and then resell it. Ideally, I would buy an L series lens but I don’t have the money right now so I am rounding up what I have to make it work. It will come together one way or another.

I was invited to a ball game tonight and I got a chance to take some pictures there.

In my search for a lens I ran in to a guy named Subir who pointed me in the direction of cinema5d.com a great site that features forums about the Canon 5D Mark ll. He also pointed me to a forum where I could jimmy a hoodloupe for my camera… Here:

While looking around in the ‘box of truth,’ I found the site of Danfung Dennis, a freelance photojournalist, who works around the world covering epic struggles.

He is very talented and I aspire to do something like this. I see the style in his photos and I have yet to gain this level of quality but I am working everyday to obtain just that. ;}
