Social Networking...

Recently I have found my friends have been having quite a bit of luck with social networking to score work. Facebook and Twitter have taken off and everyone seems to be on those networks so I have added those features to my website. I had to do a bit more programing that I really wanted to but it is a trade that I am willing to take for the prospective payoff. My website gets about 40 hits a day currently which is alright for a portfolio site but I'd like to be attracting more clients and prospective work so I'm going to add a google and facebook campaign for viral videos. This requires a little funding to throw at the issue but from what I have gathered it is money well spent.
I started to use google adwords a while back and I had hits but the amount of money that I was spending was getting little done. I was needing to spend about $5 per day to really direct traffic in the area to my video site. With that amount of money being spent I really need to have a fat wallet and some patience with the money to start seeing the results. I am going to start this back up now that I have my site up to date and the linked videos and crew involved in the layout.
A few things that I added to the site this week include a new front page layout that is more video centered. I felt like the old design said "I work with photos" and that the video page was just a side note. Now the site says "I do video" and I like that because that's really what pays the bill. I also like that because people whom I'm looking to have an artistic venture with can see that i am passionate about what I do.
The other features that I add where to my bio page where I added the facebook link and the twitter and blog link as mentioned above. But I also added a "the crew" link where you can find some of the bios of the guys that i work with and links to their sites. Now, I don't hire these guys all the time but professionally we rely on each other to get the job done and to stimulate projects. I find it is worth including them in as much stuff as I can helps. Including adding them to my portfolio site, which is really a site for all of use to show work that we have done off.
