He whore a red cloke and sat outside of the monestary talking with us. He said that the next meditation session would be very special because the monks where celebrating.
"What are you celebrating?" I said.
"You will see."
Logan and I took off our shoes and sat against the wall were we could see 13 monks sitting. They started to chant and move from side to side. I shut my eyes and started to breath. I kept my breath regular focusing on the absence of time. THe illusion of time and the sence of relaxation. My neck relaxed and then my back and I fluidly moved around on the floor in to a comfortable possition to sit. As the meditation continued it became louder. Vibrant. Large horns and bells, voices and drums filled the room. A 20 foot golden Budda in the back of the room staired at us frozen in plaster. There were other people in the room now, I only concentrated on the chanting and the effects of the instuments on my mind. The sounds came in at the strangest times carrying my thoughts to new highest and reaffirming their connection to my soul.
I would change possion every so often. Still breathing heavily, the monks would break for a few seconds and then return to a deep, gutteral chant. My eyes were tearing at one point. Only thinking about time and the illusion of time. The universe and the signs that it feeds to us.
We sat until they kicked us out. We folded the rugs and decided that we would go back in the morning before we continued our hike toward Everest and the mountains we plan to climb.
